Privacy
Short version: your videos and scripts stay on your device.
What stays on your device
- Camera and microphone: used only while the recorder is open, only on this device.
- Takes: kept in your browser’s storage until you delete them or clear your browser data.
- Scripts and settings: saved in your browser.
What can leave your device
- When you tap Share, the video goes to the app you choose, under that app’s terms.
- Voice follow uses your browser’s speech recognition. Chrome sends that audio to Google to transcribe it.
- Paying for Pro happens on Stripe’s checkout page. ClippCut never sees your card.
No accounts, no tracking
There are no ClippCut accounts and no analytics or advertising trackers. Pro is a passcode you keep; it’s checked in your browser.
Fonts and code
Fonts and code are served from ClippCut’s own site, and once you have visited, the recorder opens from your device’s storage, even offline. Pages make no requests to font, analytics or advertising servers.
Deleting your videos
Open Takes and delete any take or sectioned video, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove everything ClippCut stored. Videos you shared to other apps stay there under those apps’ rules.
Camera and microphone
Your browser asks before ClippCut can use the camera or microphone, and shows a sign in the address bar or status bar while they are on. Close the recorder, or switch to another tab, and they turn off. You can take the permission back at any time in your browser’s site settings.
